25% OF CALIFORNIA'S RENEWABLE ENERGY NEEDS CAN BE MET BY SOLAR AT MILITARY BASES, SAYS DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

 

January 13, 2012 (Washington D.C.)--The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) could generate 7000 megawatts (MW) of solar energy -- equivalent to the output of seven nuclear power plants -- on four military bases in the California desert, according to a study released today by DoD’s Office of Installations and Environment.
