Eight local women Honored at Soroptimist’s annual “Live Your Dream” Awards Celebration

Soroptimist International of Valley de Oro recognizes women overcoming extraordinary obstacles to build better lives through education

April 19, 2026 (Rancho San Diego) -- On the evening of Monday, April 13, 2026, a small but mighty corner of East County came together at Hooley’s Rancho San Diego to celebrate something truly meaningful: the courage, determination, and dreams of eight remarkable local women. Soroptimist International of Valley de Oro (SI/VdO) held its annual Live Your Dream Awards presentation, honoring this year’s recipients and shining a light on the transformative power of education.

TRY YOUR LUCK AT CASINO NIGHT APRIL 20 IN LEMON GROVE

April 11, 2013 (Lemon Grove) – You’re invited to enjoy an evening of bingo, black jack, craps, and roulette as well as silent auctions, raffles, food and drink. It’s all part of the fun at Casino Night 2013, hosted by the San Miguel Knights of Columbus, Soroptimist International and Kiwanis Club of Lemon Grove on Saturday, April 20.

Admission is $15; for an extra $10 you can purchase a chicken dinner from 5:30 to 7:30.  The Casino Night runs from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at 8086 Broadway (St. John of the Cross Knights of Columbus Hall) in Lemon Grove.

WINE, CHEESE AND CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISING EVENT AND FREE CONCERT THIS WEEKEND AT MISSION TRAILS REGIONAL PARK

September 27, 2012 (San Diego) -- Soroptimist International of San Diego is holding their 3rd annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate fundraising event on September 28, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Visitor Center Lobby/Terrace. A silent auction will feature a gorgeous solid body electric guitar donated by Taylor Guitars! In addition there will be music by members of the San Diego Native American Flute Circle. Also, the San Diego Astronomy Association will have a large telescope on the terrace for a spectacular look at the stars and planets. For more information and to purchase tickets go here.
